How To Type on PDF Online?
Easy-to-use PDF software
How can I get this font in MS Word? The PDF says LaTeX type SKT font, but I am unable to get that font anywhere.
First you have to have an idea about what will be the use and the public of the font. Display or text, for kids, young people or older people, for a brand or for reading an entire book. Then, choose among all the styles. serif, sans serif, blackletter, script… and among all the substyles. roman serif, dutch serif, humanist serif, geometrical sans serif, humanist sans serif, calligraphic, english old style, fraktur, textur, handletter… When you have chosen one style and substyle look for references, there are a lot of great book on the subject. 20th Century Type, Visual history of Type, Typo… Star drawing the characters (i draw by hand and it works for me, but it is not a law…) i draw the lower ones at first and determine which elements are common among them like curves, serifs and the generator drawings (for example if you draw an “n” you can have the “u” by simple rotation or an “m” by duplicating some shapes). When i finish, correct the weights of the drawings and star drawing the caps… i also correct those drawings and star with the drawing of the numbers and punctuation marks. I redraw the characters in a vector based software (i still use Freehand in an old MacBook or a white iMac, but also can draw in Illustrator) in a 1000 pt file, and the export the drawings to Fontlab and try to make the kerning pairs. If it is good i export the font as a Postscript or Open Type file and make a proof on my Mac system… is there any correction in the file i make it or start using the font. If you need all the family with various weights and positions you have to draw all of them (for example the semibold or the bold weight and the italic position and the mixture between them like semibold italic). Hope you find this useful.
